The Journey Begins

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

Riding is in my blood. My mom barrel raced in Louisiana and did very well. I remember one day, watching her and thinking: I wanna do that too. I started because I just adored being around the horses. I began on an old ranch gelding we had named ozzy. We did everything together. He was laid back and absolutely perfect. When I started to move up to different horses, we bought a reining reject by the name of Cisco. I fell in love with him when I met him and my parents surprised me with his papers and bill of sale in hand on Christmas when I was seven years old. He did really great for a while and taught me really valuable skills today. Finally Lena came into my life and it was love at first sight. She became my best friend since the day I met her, and still is to this day. I take the most pride in her because I started her as an 8 yr old and she took me to placing numerous times at the state finals and nationals!! Our biggest highlight was our finalist spot she claimed at the 2016 youth world finals in Georgia!! She is just AMAZING. I then decided it was time for me to find a young prospect I felt would be amazing to take to school with me. Reyna was brought to my attention through a friend and I studied everything about her. I loved her. I bought her sight unseen. I got her and boy did things start off rough. We finally got back on our feet after the first year of multiple lows and we began our journey. About a year later, she is starting to compete and is just coming along so nicely as a 6 yr old. I plan to take her to Murray state university with me fall of 2019 and compete on their rodeo team! I also plan to take her to youth world for my last opportunity to run as a youth, summer of 2019!!
